Adam Lambert Celebrates Pride with New EP 'Afters' and Headlines WeHo Pride

Adam Lambert, the acclaimed singer-songwriter who first captured hearts on "American Idol," announces his latest project just in time for Pride Month. His new EP, "Afters," marks his first original release since 2020 and is set to debut on July 19. Lambert will also take center stage at the upcoming WeHo Pride in West Hollywood on May 31, adding to the festivities.

Speaking from his Los Angeles home, Lambert shared how the pandemic years offered him both challenges and new beginnings. "It was a strange time for everybody, but it was also when I found love again," Lambert explained. His relationship has brought him much joy and inspiration, notably influencing his new music, which he describes as "electronic, sexy, naughty, and a little steamy."

"Afters" gives fans a sneak peek with "Wet Dream," a track released quietly on SoundCloud, showcasing Lambert's signature bold sound. The EP is inspired by the freewheeling spirit of the after parties Lambert hosts at his home, known for their lively atmosphere and absence of rules.

Lambert also reflects on his journey in the music industry, from his groundbreaking early performances to personal compromises he made to gain acceptance. His hit single "Whataya Want From Me" initially altered to fit radio norms, has been re-released with its original lyrics as Lambert reclaims his artistic freedom.

Now, nearly 15 years after his debut, Lambert feels empowered to express himself without restraint. "I've earned the right to make music for people like me and those who understand," he states, emphasizing his commitment to authenticity.

As Lambert gears up for Pride, he acknowledges the political challenges facing the LGBTQ+ community but remains optimistic. "People are scared of what they don't understand," he observes. Despite the pushback, Lambert champions love and self-acceptance, celebrating the resilience and brightness of his community.
